Mission

The Eli Sunshine Fund’s mission is to raise awareness and to fund research and trials to find a cure for Ewing Sarcoma, and to bring sunshine to children and families living with childhood cancer.

ABOUT THE ELI SUNSHINE FUND

The Eli Sunshine Fund was founded by Eli’s family to honor him and raise awareness and critical funds for research and trials to give children more effective and less toxic options. Since it was founded, The Eli Sunshine Fund has raised more than $1.4 million to support its mission.

ELI’S TREATMENT PLAN

Eli was diagnosed in January 2021 with Ewing Sarcoma at age 6. He received the standard frontline protocol of 17 cycles of chemotherapy, along with surgery to remove his primary tumor, and radiation therapy. Shortly after completing the frontline protocol, he had a recurrence. Unfortunately, there is no Plan B and no protocol for recurrence in Ewing Sarcoma. Eli spent the next year receiving the same 40-year-old treatments and drugs, as well as participating in trials, which were unfortunately ineffective. After 2.5 years of nonstop treatment and trials, Eli left this world in June 2023 at 9 years old.
